Meet the artist behind Underscore Glasserie

Michi Muzyka founded Underscore Glasserie to make the craft of working with glass more accessible to the city she loves, fostering a stronger community for the arts in Jersey City.

She is a fine artist specializing in the Tiffany method copper foil stained glass and traditional gold gilding. Her illustrative style explores the strength and fragility of femininity, often intertwined with the natural world. While she has a diverse background that includes cut paper sculpture, mixed media, and glass painting, her focus is on traditional glass artistry.

With a background in digital product design and an MFA from Pratt University, she merges both manual techniques and digital technologies to dive into traditional craft. She has been creating art in Jersey City for the last decade, with commissioned works and exhibits that include Sotheby's, international art exhibits, and as a visiting professor at the Universidad de Los Andes.
